Ladybird

I caught this Ladybird in the peg off chance and thought it would be a great opportunity to take some pictures. I thought a head on shot instead of an angled one gave a more detailed picture of the Ladybird rather than focusing on the peg.

London Eye

I took this whilst on a trip in London last year. I took it because I liked the reflection of the sun on the London Eye.

AS Level Landscape

This is one of my AS Level Media photographs as part of my production piece. I thought the reflection of the sun on the edge of the bench along with the sun in the right third looked good.

Woolacombe Beach

This is Woolacombe Beach at night. I thought it would be interesting to experiment with the flash, and created this.

Clover Flowers

This is a photo of clover flowers. I took it from below as I thought it would give an interesting perspective. I also like this photo because it gives a false impression which require a second glance as they resemble palm trees from this angle.

London Sunset Under Bridge

I took this when on a trip to London last year. I timed the picture so the sunset was directly under the bridge to show the people on the bridge as silhouettes and also to create the same effect as the with the people. I think it is very effective and creates an interesting photograph.

Clovelly Harbour

This is Clovelly Harbour. All of the colours of the boats and the clothing of the people stood on the harbour wall helped to make this image stand out. Also I think the wall obstructing the view of most of the sea draws attention.

Sillhouette Sunset

I have chosen this picture because I like the small silhouette against the seemingly large rocks and the wide sea. This was one of my earlier photographs so I was still getting to grips with editing, but I have lost the original image. I still wanted to show this picture though as I feel this was one of the first photographs I took that made me feel as if I could have the potential to become a photographer.

Snowy Lake

This is a flooded area of land during a snowy period at the beginning of the year. I took this photo at a low angle because I think it made the photo more interesting. It also makes the trees look taller, giving a sense of being in the position of a small animal, which gives an unusual perspective for the audience.

A Level Portrait

This is a photograph I took as part of my A Level production piece this year. I think the concrete background helps to make the photograph more interesting.

A Level Portrait 2

This is one of the photographs I took as part of my current A Level Media coursework. I positioned the photo like this because I thought the lighting kept the image looking natural and the eye contact of the person helped to make the photo seem more intense.

Mountain View

I took this whilst on one of my Duke of Edinburgh expeditions. As I was walking I noticed how interesting the shape of the mountain was and also the shadows of the clouds on the mountain. I thought this put together with the far away fields would create a good photograph.

Train Station Gutter

I took this photo because the gutter runs parallel alongside the train line and also leads towards the bridge that is far in the distance. Also everything in the image is typical to a train station and by using a less common angle, it could help to make people look at it in a different perspective.

Ilfracombe Harbour

I like this picture because of the sun just shining over the large rock. I also like how the rock is obstructing one third of the photograph as it is unusual to have something that large take up that much of the photo.

Autumn

I took this purely because I liked how bright and colourful the leaves were. I also thought that the trees lining the path around the leaves enhanced the picture also.

Cable Cars

This photo was taken in a cable car whilst on a trip in London last year. However it doesn't feel as though it has been taken in one as it looks as if you're floating in mid-air and this is what I hoped to do with this image.

Wetlands Lighthouse

This was taken at a local wetlands area. It is of a pathway that leads to an old, small lighthouse. I took this picture because I liked the clear line between the reeds and the sky. Also I wanted to create a photo that made the viewer want to explore and delve further into the photo.

AS Level Landscape 2

I took this photo when taking photographs for my AS Level production piece. I took it because I thought that the sun shining on her hair and outlining her face made the picture look more intriguing.

Autumn Trees

I took this photograph whilst out walking with my family. I noticed a tree that had split in half and thought it would be interesting to place the camera between the tree and take a photo looking directly upwards, this is the result. I like the contrast between the light colours of the blue and orange against the darker browns and greens of the tree trunks. As I also enjoy the more uncommon angles for photographs I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to use one of those angles.

A Level Portrait 3

I took this photo as part of my A Level production work. As it was to be used as a magazine cover, I
thought it would be interesting to experiment, I thought it would be interesting to have the model looking at the camera but not head on as to change the image slightly. By having the model hide behind the tree it made the photograph more intriguing.
